Employers' Liability
In laymen's terms Employers Liability indemnifies the insured person(s) against their legal liability for bodily injury to an employee arising out of their employment within the business and caused by a negligent act by the employer.
Most clubs have volunteers working for them who do not have contract of employment and do not receive payment. The Employers Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 does not include "volunteers" within its definition of an employee, so it is important that clubs / associations check to ensure that either their insurers definition of an "employee" includes volunteers, or that the Public Liability insurers will include working volunteers under their cover.
This product is offered to sporting clubs, associations, coaching enterprises and governing bodies in combination with our Public Liability policy.
The EL is provided for full time and part time employees as well as volunteers.
